Inventor of C and UNIX (along with Ken Thompson) Dennis Ritchie passed away last weekend at the age of 70.

He was one of the most important technology engineers of all time, as C is still the second most popular programming language and it derived both C++, Java etc. as well as inspired another handful of programming languages. He invented the C language and also rewrote the Unix kernel into that language. Linux also was built with C.

Needless to say, but his work will endure forever and continue to inspire many of us in the field not only in technical terms but most of all in terms of greatness!
